Hello,
This is kind of a strange (green) question, but I have always wondered what the process was to learn the trade of being a tourist route fireman with the eventual hope of becoming an engineer on some of these amazing narrow gauge machines during their running season? I'm going to start volunteering at the CRRM here soon, to at least cut my teeth and be around the wealth of experience / expertise.
I’ve often thought about re-thinking my desk job and going to work for something that I would enjoy more (meaning looking into railroad jobs). I realize that everything turns into a job at some point, but that would be a dream fulfilled!
Thanks for your time all!
Jeff
