Rummaging through some old magazines, I found this in the July, 1972 issue of Railroad Magazine. Sounds like wonderful accomodations (even though Antonito got moved to a different state)! Anyone remember any more about this equipment, and/or whatever became of it?
“Railfans riding the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad can stay overnight in genuine Pullman sleeping cars, once used on the Overland Limited and City of St. Louis streamliners, on private tracks at Antonito N.M. A former Union Pacific buffet-lounge car with cafeteria meal service and light refreshments also is available. For those on a budget, economy-class accommodations are offered in a UP baggage-dormitory car. Passenger equipment is located one-half mile west of the railroad depot at Antonito on State Highway 17.”
