I just got a parcel back this afternoon with some film to tape transfer that was done professionaly, from my dads old 8mm stuff. So, like a kid with a new bike I was watching the first reel/tape, which was all N&W stuff. The second one is N&W half reel, and since it was only half we had them add another odd half reel to this one.
This second one must be Rio Grande. I know I sent 4-5 reels of D&RGW up. The first shot is a cool scene of 495 heading south along the 3-rail section from Alamosa to Antonito. Behind the engine is the idler flat car, and several standard gauge freight cars, then later the narrow gauge stuff. Next we see A shot in the Antonito yard, and thats where I stopped to catch a phone call. I thought the idler shot was cool, since there was talk of this use about a year ago on this board. Will post more perhaps later. I know that 494-95 stuff at Osier in 60 or 61 is on this stuff someplace. Its Christmas in November!
I just wish Dad were still here to watch with me!
The D&RGW lives here in Ohio today anyway!
