There was a great shot of the #50 and B-7 in the 1998 Sundance calendar. It is mis-dated, since it says it is 1962. #50 came to the D&RGW in 1963, and as you say, the B-7 was rebuilt that year as well. That was probably when the B-7 was first painted gold and placed in charter sevice.
Yes, all of the RPO's on the property were stripped of their trucks for the new steel cars and observation gons. Later, even coaches 284, 306, and 320 were disposed of to the Colorado Railroad Museum without trucks. 284 is still there, with brand-new trucks having been built, 306 and 320 went to the Huckleberry, I believe.
Boulder's 280, and the Knott's equipment got away complete.
