This photo shows what appears to be a group from the "Wall Street Camp" at Mont Alto. Wall Street is a small town in 4-mile canyon (along the railroad). A small corner of the Ox Bow Curve is visible in the lower left. Just below the track on the curve is a small hip roof from a structure I haven't seen in any other photos.
The Colorado & Northwestern had four of these open observation cars (nos. 15-18). They were reported to have been built by the Woeber Car Company in Denver, and purchased second hand by the C&N (probably around 1897). When operations ended (1919), these cars were basically worn out, and were sold to a local (Boulder) party who made cabins out of them. One of these cars, or at least one end, can be seen as part of a small house near the mouth of Boulder Canyon. Woeber was primarily a streetcar builder, so these may have been converted streetcars.
