Crystal River Steam

June 16, 2005 10:24AM
Hi all.
I was looking through the book " The Crystal River Pictoral" in a bookstore the other day, and found mention of a Crystal River 0-8-0 ( I dont remember the number) that was sold to another railroad, converted to a 2-8-0, then later sent to Cuba. The author goes on to state that the locomotive was still in Cuba, waiting to be sent to its owner in the States, but that the owner had died recently. It looks like the first printing of the book was around 1972, but my question is does anyone know if the locomotive is still sitting in cuba, or has it been scrapped? Thanks in advance for any help.
