Ophir Oilton Club Saloon

I just thought everyone would like to know. I was up at Ophir, Monday the 25th of September, and stopped to take
photos of the Oilton Club. A lady by the name of Lisa bought it about
7 years ago. She is remodeling the inside as her home (upstairs) and
a studio (downstairs). She took the building apart and added a
basement to it. She also had the new siding cut to the same exact
dimensions as the old. She added the skylights in her bedroom and she
has the most BREATHTAKING view of the Ophir Needles you can imagine.
I talked to her for a couple of hours and did some electrical work in
the house for her. She gave me the only 8 remaining windows that were
not destroyed buy the road service crews. She wanted to reuse the old
doors and windows in the house to keep it as original as she could.
THANK YOU COUNTY MAINTINANCE for destroying them for her!!!!
The windows that I have, have the original unbroken glass and paint
on them. VERY NICE!!! She has repainted the trim green and it is an
exact match to what is on my windows. She is also going to let the
siding weather a little and then give it a white wash to make it
match the original building.
I think we all need to thank her for trying to preserve a little part
of the RGS history.
