40' reefer color variations

Group,
Between homework assignments and my teaching job, I have been working on an On3 SJ 40' reefer. I was wondering about the 40' reefer at the CRRM that was/is painted orange rather than reefer yellow. Were any actually painted that color when they were in service? If so what was the time frame and does anyone know what numbers were painted that way. This would be an interesting variation if it fits in my time frame.
