The 494 dual gauge coupler was added in the 1930s. I have the AFE for that, but it is not handy.
268 did a stint as yard switcher in Salida in the late 20s, but the coal traffic became too heavy for a C class engine in the early 30ds and that is when they started using standard gauge class C-41 and C-48 2-8-0s and the K37s.
