According to research I have done, 474 was never equipped with a steam heat line, thus was never used in passenger service, except possibly in summer. I don't recall ever seeing a photo of it anywhere off of the Salida-Gunnison-Crested Butte area. I suppose it's possible that it spent its entire D&RGW career there.
