G.L.R.R. update

November 13, 2004 05:55PM
Today the Georgetown Loop coach #4 The "Tahoe car" was moved off the property. As of this day there is no more passenger eqipment left at Silver plume. There is how ever about twenty or so freight cars left that has to be moved soon.
The "Tahoe Car" has a very interesting history. It was built by the Hammond Car Company of California in 1902. It was originally built as the #4 day coach for the Lake Tahoe Railway & Transportation Co.
The "Tahoe Car" is now in storage at the Colorado Rail road Museum, until such a time that a new home for all the narrow gauge eqipment of the G.L.R.R. is found.
