Casa de Fruta steamer

Definitely on the small side; sorry if I get anyone upset for being on the edge of off-topic...but at least its steam...and there's a fair amount of California people here compared to some other discussion boards/groups.
Remember the old Casa de Fruta 12" gauge railroad in Hollister? Beautiful 4-6-4...and later a little switch engine. Now a 16" gauge Custom Locomotive "geep".
However...at one point, I seem to remember (in Valley Fair Mall, San Jose), a live steam train on display in the Casa de Fruta store downstairs which is long since gone. Definitely before 1994. I can't remember anything else about it, except the new store came and the steamer left.
Anybody know what this was? I had thought the 12" gauge Casa de Fruta engine had been sold by that time to the Wabash Frisco & Pacific. I'd also be curious to hear what happened to the VW-bug-powered switch engine that left in '98 with the arrival of the new deezul.
Thanks,
Ed Kelley
