We celebrated thirty great years of railroading today...The Georgetown Loop RR, Inc. operation closed down with class and dignity. The whistles echoed in the valley til late into the evening and crowds of people packed the trains as they thundered into the darkness and chilly mists of the night. It was something to see, hear and smell...there is not likely to be day like it again. What great memories! We wish all of you could have been there.
We want to thank all of you railfans and railroaders for your patronage and support over these many years. Without you this first rate rail operation would not have been possible...an incredible piece of Colorado railroad history ended today and you were all a part of it.
All good things must come to an end...and there will be lots of happy days ahead for all of us...just wait and see!
