Add Chicago Northwestern combine 7409 to the list of Baker heaters. 7409 is a steel car of 19teens vintage with great wood interior and a Baker in the baggage section. Straight convection, coal fired, of course. I works fairly well to keep the car warm for our Snow Train each February. Doesn't take much watching, except overnight when there isn't a crew on board. Haven't had a miserably cold winter since we got it so don't know how well it would do in 0 degrees and minus windchills. There is a steam line that runs under the car to get steam from the engine to the normal steam-heated coaches.
