Crested Butte - 100 years ago this week

One hundred years ago this week The Gunnison Republican ran a stern warning to the boys of Crested Butte. The boys had been "annoying" the crews of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad by throwing stones at the trains and jumping the cars. The paper stated, if caught, the boys would be promptly arrested and taken before Juvenile Court. There Judge Hetherington would mete out justice to the offenders. According to the paper, "this is a step in the right direction, not only for the protection of the crews, but the safety of the boys."
