This picture was almost certainly taken on the Rocky Mountain RR Club Excursion in May, 1949. As in Steve's picture, the engine appears to be carrying extra flags. It was probably taken on the first day, when the engine crew made life so difficult for the passengers, who had requested #74 to pull the train. Note the almost complete absence of even the slightest puff of coal smoke from the stack. The train had to make several stops to "blow up steam" before Ed Hailey reached the limit of his patience and told the fireman that if he couldn't fire the engine, there were several riders on board who could.
One feature that this shot shows well, is that the cab roof extension has not yet been added. It is still as the C&S built it in the 1920's.
