Status of the C&TS

I just returned from the Friend's third work session (Aug 7 - Aug 11). I was a train host (tough duty, but someone has to do it). I want to report some personal observations:
1- The RR is in great hands!! Numerous people commented to me that everything is being run so professionally this year(especially compared to last year). This includes passengers as well as crew members and local merchants!
2- The track work that is being done has made an incredible impact!! I personally am amazed at the the progress!!!
3- The operational management team has got it's _ _ _ _ together!!!
4- The Friend's (as usual) are doing yeoman's work! I have never seen such a dedicated, focused group in my life!!!
5- People who come to take the ride are really impressed with the experience!!! Note: we still need to get the word out about the "Williamsburg of Railroads"
6- The reservation system seems to have most of the glitches worked out.
All in all, if you can, please come out and
participate in this most wonderous experience.
