According to Gerald Best, the International Rys of Central America’s roster of January 1960 listed the following data on the #40, #44 and the #111.

I hope this helps to track #40 history.
Also, I find it interesting to note that if the CHS can get the 111 running then it would make the perfect engine to run on the Loop, maybe even better then the 40 based on this data.
