Anyone have knowledge of brass cab/gauge lanterns

I'm trying to find info on old brass locomotive cab/gauge lanterns from the turn of the century.
I went ot the CRRM and what little info I could find says they are rare. I have a brass cab lamp that is stamped on the brass "Baldwin Locomotive Works". It is from 1900. I understand that it was part of my great-grandfathers brass set for his locomotive.
I want to find out what the base they were fixed too looks like. I want to restore this for my father. Any suggestions or ideas.
