Hi,
I just caught the tail end of a Discovery Channel's show called "Transcontinental Railroad" In the first 10 minutes of the show (before I had to leave), D&S 478 was shown on the Silverton in the snow.
Upon retuning and catching the last 10 minutes, the show presented the final spike at Promentory Summit with the CP represented by #2 - a shay and UP by 19? a probable rod engine.
The area looked to be grass lands instead of desert. Could this have been SV?
