smokebox,
The Heisler hasn't made it up the museum yet, but it should be arriving within a few months the best I can figure. There is no set date for its move.
The Porter ran beautifully over the weekend and it will be steamed up from time to time, we haven't figured out a set schedule for that yet either. Les talked about it over the weekend and it sounded like he didnt plan to be around to operate it all the time and most operation would be done by our volunteers.
Argent #5 is owned by the Ramey family and it was under steam last year a couple times. However since the Argent engine doesn't enter our property I doubt it will do much beyond moving around the field the Ramey's typically run it. There is no telling what the Ramey family will do with it since they change their minds constantly about ideas they have. Sadly Argent #5 needs a lot of work and has never been fully worked on since they got it. Normally when they run it, the volunteers avoid being around in case "something" happens.
Based on mutterings of guys around the museum it sounds like the current plan is to finish NCNG #5s tender and get it in the museum building. Once this is done I believe the guys were going to move our F&CC coach indoors to get it out of the weather. I would like to see the Westside tool car get resided and restored to its proper appearance so we can move it outside for storage of parts and clear up more shop floor. Once the Heisler and the 3 pieces of rolling stock from Hal's collection arrive the shop building is going to be fairly packed since the Porter and the Heisler will take up close to one full stall. Leaving the other track for restoration.
Hopefully the photos I took of last weekends event will make it online soon, our F&CC box made its first appearance in its finshed form during the event and it was absolutely beautiful.
