Re: SVRy #20

The restoration work on # 20 has focused on getting the U.T. work completed so we can proceed with the form 4 calculations.
Scott performed a preliminary firebox inspection last fall and it appears that the lower side sheets and flue sheet were replaced just prior to her retirement in '58.
It appears that the boiler and firebox are in good shape with minimal work needed.
We hope to hydrotest the boiler this spring prior to removing the tubes.
Scot has developed a detailed plan for the disassembly, rebuilding and reassembly of 20's major components, including turning the driver tires.
we have also been acquiring parts to replace missing items.
Fund raising for 20's overhaul is ongoing on several fronts, including tying it's overhaul in with the track extension to Union Creek.
The track gang is currently building additional track into the shops with the hope of getting all three engines in the backshop by mid summer.
While a casual visitor may not notice much different about #20, we now have a much better idea of the work needed and 20's overall condition.
As it sits, #20 is kept lubricated and is moved frequently, the last time three weeks ago.
As work progresses I'll try to keep updates posted........Jerry
