GE type UM6B - the traction motors are mounted between the two axles. The picture below, taken at Loerie in 1988, shows three examples of South African Railways class 91 in original livery. If you look closely at the leading bogie of the first loco it is posible to see one end of the traction motor. These examples are 2' gauge.
