It depends on the teachers interest area and knowledge. My history course in junior high spent an enormous amount of time on the revolutionary and civil wars, because that was his interest area. He was a gun collector and we even had a muzzle loader shooting experience at school. But all that came at the expense of very little talk about the industrial revolution.
