John, there are four photos of ex-IRCA steam in Guatemala. Two are of 2-8-2 no 205 and 2-8-0 no 34 in the museum at Guatemala City, the old central station there, one is of 2-8-2 looking woebegone outside it and one of 2-8-2 no 153 in a highly derelict state outside the even more derelict Zacapa depot - typical, I’m afraid, of the state of most of the railway in Guatemala. I was too late by several years to see anything running there. There are two of Fensdesal 2-8-0 no 12 (ex-IRCA no 102) in steam at San Salvador depot and of sister no 101. This was in April 2012, four months before the last line in El Salvador closed. The loco was supposed to be unserviceable but the staff there very kindly steamed it for my benefit. It was a real privilege to be treated to this last little taste of what a fine operation IRCA must have been.
I believe that the WW&F’s bookstore at Sheepscot, and also Ron’s Books, are now stocking the book in the US.
