Glad to hear they're still running. I'd read rumors that they were dead in the water as an operation.
My wife and I rode this fine operation in June last year in the dome car, for my 50th birthday trip that year. We did it on a Alkai tours week long Colorado railroad trip (yes, included all the 3-foot stuff, too), otherwise I can't imagine we'd have ever gotten out to ride it.
Our car had AC if memory serves:
No covered wagons anywhere in sight that day for us either. I was a little bummed by that. They had EMD power at each end.
