I took advantage of the few opportunities I had in the Army, and would go chasing trains where I found them, but I didn't get to go overseas tot do so. I spent a lot of time at Strasburg when I was at Aberdeen, MD, as well as watching the NE corridor (including taking train shots from Army choppers when I'd bum rides off the MD national guard at Edgewood Arsenal, though I didn't have a good camera then). But back in that pre-internet era, there was stuff in the region I just didn't know about at the time.
I went to see the EBT twice, quite a drive from my BOQ, but each time I went, on a weekend when they should have been running,
nothing was going, the buildings were locked. There wasn't anyone else like me standing around wondering what was going on. Never did figure out how everyone in PA knew there was nothing running but me each time, as there weren't even any notices taped inside the windows explaining why no trains today...
I never got to see or ride the EBT, which annoys me to this day.
