As with nearly all reconstructed track in Como we have been following the ICC map of 1918 as a base-point for track engineering. The temporary track in witch boxcar 8311 is close to the beginning of the Leadville-Como main line or Section 18 as the valuation dept. called it. In the image the red arrow indicates were track 2 really was. I doubt TRK 2 will ever be reconstructed as it is not on roundhouse property.
The reason the turnout of the Denver-Gunnison main to Como-Leadville was not installed is because the Como Project need to acquire a 60lb or 65lb # 5 1/2 or # 6 frog. Anyone know of where such a frog could be procured? Another said frog is also required if we should attempt to recreate a 3=way stub switch. We could probably get away with one (or two) frog(s) of that # in 75lb rail weight. Any info would be most helpful.
