SV #250/251 vs. D&RGW K-37s

Hello,
With all the tonnage talking lately and the SV simulation, I was wondering how the K37s compare to the two SV mallets. I understand that the K37s have 37100 pounds of tractive effort vs. the mallet's 42000 pounds. How do these two engine types compare when hauling tonnage up an identical grade (say the 4% on Cumbres). A post on Feb 10th had a little SV tonnage information, but not enough to compare the locomotives. Maybe the mallets could have pulled the "14 coaches" on the C&TS.
