I have walked around in the section house area several times, and wondered about details, such as the ditch.

One mystery remains in my mind. Can anyone shed any light explaining the excavated area about 100 yards west of the cut, south of the gully? A hint of the location shows in the 4th photo - a light-colored horizontal streak beyond the tree just west of the bridge. Clearly visible from the upper track level is a cleared area with a cut through the southwest corner. A couple trees have grown up in the area, so the work was done many years ago. Sorry I don't have a photo available.
