Hey Fritz, thanks for the update! When did the county ban traffic on the lower road? That's been one of my favorite leisurely drives, imagining myself in a little 2-8-0...

Is the county voting to continue to allow ATVs on roads, or for funding to attempt to rehabilitate the roads? I'm pretty selfish and would love to see a complete ban on quads and side-by-sides. The drive from Howardsville to Animas Forks has become a dusty, bumpy misery in recent years.

The area is being absolutely being loved to death, and the vestiges of mining and railroad history continue to slowly melt back into the mountains. Some of it seems natural; some of it seems hastened by people and overuse.
