Here is a few notes about 169. There are three dedicated people in Alamosa working on the locomotive and B1 one Saturday each month. They are Ellen Dodds, Lee Conner and Rod Holloway. Most of the work is done for now. At the point is need of money to get the boiler work done, it needs three patches. One member of the Friends of the 169 has volunteered his time to locate missing pieces for the locomotive, like the Pyle-National Headlight you see in the first picture at the start of this post. He also purchased a rebuilt Pyle-National K-2 Turbo Generator. Cylinders are in good shape. Axels where UT at the same time the boiler was and they are good. Tender has been rebuilt. Side rods were dropped cleaned, checked and placed back on. Far as I know most of the cab has been replaced. The rusted out cab floor has been replaced.
