All farm equipment costs a lot of bucks these days. Heck that's why, back in the 1960's & 70's when I was growing up, we were using 15-20 years old & older stuff. Sometimes dad would even work out ways to use the old horse-drawn stuff behind the tractors. My older brother had a learning experience with that. Dad sent him out to spread manure, using the old spreader, and Ray was in a hurry so he put the tractor in road gear. Well, the part that flung the dung was geared off the rear axle of the wagon and going that fast some of the material was carried right up to the top of the arc and pitched off forward...
Dad bought a tractor when I was in High School, it was the first piece of equipment we had that was younger than I was.
