Scott is a friend and is indeed an excellent source on local mining history, in particular the Old 100 mine. He is a geologist and used to work for the Sunnyside mine before turning to the retail gift business so he could continue living in Silverton after the mine shut down. We own several businesses, including the Pickle Barrel restaurant and an ice cream parlor, in addition to our construction business. Surviving in a small town is difficult, but a town like Silverton can grab ahold of you and not let go.
