The #461 was based out of Montrose towards the end of it's D&RGW days. I would suspect that the #454 was moved to Montrose to replace the #461 when it was officially retired from D&RGW service.

P.S. The #461 was bought by the RGS in 1950 while it was being hauled over the RGS tracks on it's way to being scrapped.
