Re: 1850s locomotives in a 20th century world

Brings me to mind of the wee Carillon & Grenville Rly up in Canada. It was a small, seasonal portage railroad linking steamers at either end of a series of Ottawa River rapids. Its four 1850s locomotives lasted into 1910, and were considered antiques even in their day. This small summary of the line has a couple photos of its early motive power - still Broad Gauge right to the end! [www.canada-rail.com]

Cheers,
Ralph
