Re: Scrollwork and Patterns in the Merrilees Collection

I’m hesitant to post this here because while I’m finding this fascinating, it’s way outta my area of interest. However..... there are scores and scores of envelopes in the archives Canada Photo collection that appear to be copy negs of 1870s/80s scrollwork painting patterns, frosted/etched glass patterns, as well IIR even wooden finial designs, etc. They weren’t the least bit of interest to me and I didn’t even write down the box numbers (face palm), but it sounds like they may be of interest here. Based on some of the original photos in the collection I’m just guessing maybe coach patterns for J&S or B&S or others??? There’s a lot of USA stuff there but could be Canadian too - early Grand Trunk or CPR - I just don’t know. It’ll be a while before the Archives opens up again, and even longer before I go, but it may deserve a closer look. Someone may be restoring something and it’ll be exactly what they need.
