When I first began my trek I was hiking generally south from the incline site. Once I reached the site of 1924 Camp the grade curved to the southwest. While pushing my way through the heavy brush I sidestepped to the right of the grade and found an un-mapped spur heading off to the north:
I followed this spur about 500 feet through lots of brush. There were two rails left behind near the end:
You can see one of the rails in the lower right of the photo.
Finally, the spur ended at this drop off:
We are looking to the north.
I retraced my path and continued southwest down the grade which was mostly level at this point.
Again, there were thickets of brush to deal with. After passing through one dense thicket I exited into a easier section that was heading uphill at about a 4% grade:
Hiking this for a short while I happened to look downhill and saw that there was a grade below me. There had been a switch where the dense thicket was located and I had ended up on a spur. This spur slowly curled around the hillside until it was headed southeast. I shortly came across a stream and meadow and found the grade ended on the edge of the meadow very near the top of Speckerman Mountain(forgot to take a photo). The spur was about 600-700 feet long. I retraced my steps and dropped back down to the "mainline" and continued hiking southwest. Shortly afterwards I came upon another spur heading up the hill:
We are on the spur. The "mainline is below and to the right in the dense brush.
To be continued...
