I hear you, and was not trying to be confrontational at all. Not to slight the D&S, but their public events were not meant to be historically correct. They usually never relettered the engines to Rio Grande for Railfest events, and they catered to the average fans, not the hard core. The hard core usually went on specialized photo charters organized on the down-low, so they didn't have more than 40-50 on them. For those you would get more historical accuracy, with D&RGW lettering and better consists. I have never done any such trips on the D&S, but that's what I have seen and been told. We actually have a video coming out this fall called "D&S Railfest 2010" which features E&P #4, Goose 5, 315, and regular D&S trains, as well as some specials like the red and green coaches. My point in mentioning this is that it was quite the show of steam power, with unusual power and trains throughout the event. They provided some unique opportunities. I have heard they stopped doing them, since they weren't really making any money, and they were a lot of work.
I have always thought the C&TS has done a great job(for the most part), but there are always exceptions to everything. Nothing is perfect. What C&TS offers is the willingness, and capacity to field a historically correct train, unique power and 64 miles of track to run on. Perhaps the way to tackle the issue is to mention it to the lead organizers if you see someone that might look out of place during a runby. Perhaps the person could put on a different hat or take off the glasses for the photo run. Just a thought. Or you could photoshop in a bikini clad lady instead!!!! That might keep interest up at least!!!
