Just a note to let you know that after consultation with D&S management, we're going to plan to run our K37 No. 493 photo charter Aug. 30 and 31. Please join us if your plans allow. Here's the basics:

Join us for a two-day photographic safari with recently restored K-37 No. 493 lettered Rio Grande and pulling 4-5 freight cars and two coaches in the finest tradition of the Silverton Mixed. We'll travel to Silverton Aug. 30 and return Aug. 31 with photo stops along the way. A night photo session and boxed lunches are included both days. Lodging is on your own, and Trains has arranged a block of rooms at the Grand Imperial in Silverton for Aug. 30. Tickets: 888-884-8338.
