Waiting for the train, a trip up the river.
In 1979 White Pass country effort was being made only where it was absolutely needed. The country was headed in to a recession. Railroad maintenance was not the only thing showing it.

And some bodies don't remain buried; there is always hope of a resurrection! That is, of course, the WP&Y track heading for points north at the back:
Perhaps someone more informed than I can tell "whom" we're looking at. Short of the number on the tender seen, and a "U.S. Army" on the remains of another tender, we found no distinguishing marks. But then, at the time I didn't know what to look for. I hadn't a clue there sere such things to be seen there!
