I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember one of the Speas brothers coming over to Greeley on the local from Ft. Collins when I was a kid in the late 1950's. In the book, I remember how they were treated when trying to negotiate with management, such as having to mark off and take the train to Denver, only to have their meeting cancelled to discourage them., which happened more than once. Same thing happened to us when we (successfully) re-organized the former Central Vermont Railway after that scab outfit from Texas bought it.
