Is the D&S checking clearances?

About 8:30 this morning (looking from Smelter mountain cam) the 493 left the yard with a log flat with a wood structure on one end. It looks like they are going to be checking for clearance on bridges and rock cuts for the new diesels. Notice it above glass observation car in picture.
