The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge RR Car Shop has been rebuilding Denver & Rio Grande Western Outfit Car 04414 for the National Park Service. The car was displayed at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park site at Cimarron, Colorado. Many years of outdoor display in harsh weather took a toll. The car shop has restored the car to like new condition and will return it to Cimarron tomorrow. I am writing a history of this car for the Rio Grande Modeling & Historical Society Prospector Magazine. I have photographed the work throughout the past year. I will accompany the D&S staff returning the car tomorrow and photograph the unloading and setup of the car at Cimarron.
