The last train ran here around 1930 so don't think I have to worry about that. Biggest fear is probably encountering a hungry mountain lion...
One of the items I have found quite a few of at logging camp sites are old bottles. Sadly, the fire destroyed nearly every one of them:
Continuing our hike out along this spur. Here's a view looking back as we approach the saddle in the ridge:
We are on the grade of the spur which curves to the right through the photo. The saddle is to my left. Crow Peak is in the distance. We are about 1500 feet from the base of the incline. The grade has leveled off and might be slightly downhill at this point.
There was a large pile of wire rope here which included a couple of choker cables:
At this point the line split into to spurs. One went north over the small saddle and ended in a flat area carved out of the rock of the ridge:
Amazingly, although this was obviously a log landing, there was very little wire rope here.
