Restoration Continued.....
My wee role is to not touch anything important, and to clean parts that have been caked with a hundred years of quarry dust. In November the boiler was test fitted to the chassis, but there is obviously still a lot to do.
The end goal is to have a small oval of track for operation on the property, as there isn’t a lot (isn’t any!) 3’ gauge trackage anywhere nearby. Joining the Vulcan this past summer was a late 1920s Plymouth gas switcher, which will also see eventual restoration to operation.
Visitors are welcome, but of course not until the coronavirus eases up. Advance notice is required, and group tours are offered on a limited basis. Email is
