Yes John, I remember your first day...
What you forgot to mention is that before the 40 arrived, we used to take 44 down to Clear Creek, drop a hose in and fill it up from there using that same gasoline pump. We used to carry it on the back of the tender. we had a home made screen over the water end to keep sediment to a minimum. We had constructed a small "pool" out of rocks there creekside so we had someplace to put the hose when we needed to water the tender. Never any worry about fish. The arsenic and other chemicals from the mine tailings had killed any fry way upstream. Passengers would still drink out of it at the photo stops...
Yup, we were all young, invincible, 6 ft. tall and bulletproof....
But what a great memories.
