In the Loop for a crossing, a scene repeated countless times(so it seemed) everyday on the old NZR.
Tom Morrison [flic.kr] caught J 1202 at Awakaponga as DF 1501 crosses with a Kawerau-Mount Maunganui Pulp Train in Sep 1965.
The 1939 built J has 9mths of service left, the 1954 built DF has less than 10yrs to run but will be the only 1 of 20 to survive in preservation.
