On our 1965 or 66 Colorado trip (I forget which year because I haven’t found my dad’s slides yet), we were following a road grader up the Phantom Canyon Rd, and picked up what I figured to be a F&CC spike. Has gone AWOL in the intervening half century I’m afraid. But the spikes are nice to have, especially when the railway, and even exact location, is known.
I have a couple questions specifically about spikes that you guys will probably know, but probably should start another thread on it.
And Jerry, I see you posted some more updated RGS pics just below my post here. Those structures are indeed in a lot better shape than on our 1983 trip.
