The Car Shop, which also doubles as the engine house. Left to right, Plymouth #52, a cut of tank car # 14 &flat cars loaded with logs, combine 8, SR&RL #6 with Monson RR #3 in front.
#6 is coupled up and ready to go, #6 will pull the train backwards to To Of The Mountain (TOTM), then run around to the other end for the trip back. That's SR&RL parlor car "Rangely" ahead of #6
I was invited to ride the cab of #6 to TOTM. First off, it is a TINY cab, you have to go outside to turn around. Pics are just about impossible with everyone on board. This shot shows the Vacuum Brake Gauge, Steam Gauge and a big part of the Detroit Hydrostatic lubricator. The lubricator behind the gauges is a drip feed to the eccentrics on the valve gear.
Engineer's side. The edge of the Detroit Lubricator in on left edge. Again we have the Vacuum brake gauge, an steam gauge (#6 pops at 140), an additional vacuum gauge. Below that is the throttle, The vertical short hande to right of the throttle is the vacuum brake valve. Next to that is the Johnson Bar. Ahead of the throttle is the injector (Metropolitan). The arm on the front wall is the cylinder cocks
